AU for Paradisa
Dec. 12th, 2010 12:47 amWhile in Paradisa she believes that she was residing in Gotham City but has no recollection of being Batgirl. She thinks she lived a normal life as the Commissioner’s daughter. She looked up to Batman and was a fan of the dynamic duo but nothing more than that. Barbara has studied their moves and everything. How they operate and work as a team.
Then, comes that faithful day when Joker shows up at her door and shoots her. He takes off her clothes and he takes pictures of her. She is then hospitalized and is visited by Bruce Wayne. This is a strange occurrence seeing as she only saw him once in a while when she accompanied her Dad to Bruce Wayne’s parties when he was invited.
Bruce reveals that he was there upon the request of her father who was worried about her. Bruce sympathizes with her and after having a small pep talk (its kind of a bad pep talk, see: The Road Home: Oracle) and reveals the identity of himself and Robin. Who turns out to be Dick Grayson, her current boyfriend. He helps her set up her alias as Oracle and helps give her purpose in moving forward.
She aids Bruce in training his newest female operative, which is Cassandra Cain. After training her she decides to gain some of her own operatives and that’s when she recruits Dinah Lance aka Black Canary. After Black Canary, she has the rocky friendship with Helena Bertinelli, whom she doesn’t like initially (possibly because she is an old flame of Dick’s during their off period). After Helena joins the team for a while, Barbara also recruits Zinda aka Lady Blackhawk. After Zinda, Barbara gets the last two operatives who are Dawn Granger aka Dove and Hank Hill aka Hawk.
She is now the mentor to Stephanie Brown who took on the mantle of Batgirl after Cassandra gave it up after Bruce’s ‘death’.
